In the last step of the creation process you can name your app and add some additional information. Your app can be found under this name in the app player. This name will also appear in the header of your app.
Select a Name for your App
The name you choose for your app appears on the App Card in the App Player and the App Portal. Under this name, your app can be found via the search function in the personal dashboard or the App Player. The name can be changed later in the App Admin.
Describe your App
You can optionally enter a description of your app. This description appears to give users a "glimpse" into your app. This may for example be in the email that a user receives if you invite him to this app. You can use up to 4000 characters for your app's description.
- Click on 'Create my app' to finish the app creation process.
Your app will be created in 'Prototype' mode. This means only you have access to it at this moment.
In case you are using Open as App for the first time (or are not logged in), you will be asked to log in or to create an account.
The process is quick and simple - and free!
In case you are not sure how to create an Open as App Account check out this article: https://support.openasapp.net/hc/en-us/articles/207181099.
Your App is ready to use!
You have turned your spreadsheet into a native App!
The app will be created instantly and you will receive an e-mail that contains a link to your app!
- Click on this link on the device you want to use Open as App. The host app will try to download and run the new application (iOS only right now).
- Alternatively you can find and run your new app by clicking on the search button inside the "Open as App" application on your device. After a few seconds the search results will display all apps matching the typed in name.
Share your App
In order to invite other users to your app you have to change the privacy settings of your app or create a team.
